Fielding, who adapted her newspaper columns into two bestselling Bridget Jones books, is currently working on the script. No director is attached to the stage show so far, though Working Title, the company which made the Bridget Jones films, is set to produce. But besides her rumoured work for the Bridget Jones musical, Allen has scheduled a handful of summer festival dates. It seems like only yesterday that Allen suggested taking time off from music, perhaps to pursue a career as an actress, label owner or fashion designer. This is Allen's first new work since last year's It's Not Me, It's You, and follows her recent triple-win at the Ivor Novello awards. According to Contact Music, the singer has only composed one tune so far – a song about poor Bridget contemplating her fridge – with 11 more to go. If the speculation is true, Allen still has a lot of work to do. The singer, who recently talked about "retiring" from music, is rumoured to be working with author Helen Fielding to bring a show to London's West End next year. Lily Allen may be heading to the theatre, writing the score for a musical based on Bridget Jones's Diary.
